The Story of the Source – Pelisterka Remembers

For thousands of years, the region beneath the majestic Pelister Mountain has preserved one of North Macedonia’s most valuable natural treasures. Above lies the city of Bitola, rich in history and culture; below, deep beneath the fertile Pelagonija plain, rests the ancient source of Pelisterka – a spring whose story has been flowing through generations.
Located near the village of Medžitlija, just 6 km south of Bitola, the Pelisterka spring originates from an underground source estimated to be more than 3,200 years old. Drawn from depths of up to 120 meters and naturally maintained at a temperature of 15°C, this unique artesian water emerges enriched with minerals and naturally carbonated by nature itself.
For centuries, local people have valued the water for its exceptional quality and refreshing taste. Today, scientific analyses confirm what generations have known – Pelisterka possesses a naturally balanced mineral composition and characteristics that contribute to digestive well-being.
Surrounded by the pristine environment of the Pelister region, renowned for its rich biodiversity and protected natural heritage, the source remains a symbol of purity, health, and tradition. Every bottle of Pelisterka carries a piece of this remarkable history, bringing the authentic taste of Macedonia to tables across the country and around the world.
